Celebration Timeline
- March 2006 - Celebration Community Church is officially organized and affiliated with the Assemblies of God as a Home Missions church.
- March 2006 – Initial Church accountability board is installed and made up of 7 pastors who review finances monthly and provide valuable ministerial and church guidance.
- May 2006 – The Student Center is opened at 32 S. Baltimore St. as an outreach to the students in the community. On average, 35 students a day enjoyed the facility.
- July 2006 – People interested in being a part of launching a new church in Dillsburg gathered at Pastor Mike and Connie’s home and began planning the launch. 33 people attended the first meeting.
- September 10, 2006 – Celebration Community Church was launched. Our first service was held in The Grand Ballroom at Range End Golf Course and was packed with 277 friends and visitors helping Celebration get off to a successful start.
- December 25, 2006 – 135 people packed out the Kyllonen’s basement for our first Christmas Eve service.
- January 2007 – Sunday attendance averages 140.
- February 2007 – Wednesday night ministries began in various locations. Adult Bible Study, Worship Team, and Choir practice were held at Dave and Judy Kyllonen’s; Children’s ministry at The Hammers; and Youth at The Student Center.
- July 2007 – First Water Baptismal Celebration at The Cairns’ house. 33 people were baptized.
- September 2008 – South Mountain Church members vote to merge with Celebration Community Church.
- October 2008 – First combined service at South Mountain Church was held in the upper sanctuary. Folding chairs were added as 246 people attended.
- November 2008 – Services moved to gymnasium (Family Life Center) to better accommodate congregants.
- February 1, 2009 – Two Churches Become One at the marriage ceremony of Celebration Community Church and South Mountain Church.
- September 2009 – Sunday morning attendance reaches 325 people.
- December 2009 - The first group of members are received.
- March 21, 2010 - A second Sunday Celebration Service will be added!
